Well I have a timing cover leak

I've had a long term slight leak that over a year has been getting worse. It looked to be high below the aluminum motor mount brace and pooling around the crank and all over my sump. Head gasket was replaced due to slight coolant leak and I was convinced that would fix it. Nope.
Yesterday I noticed my rather new belt was frayed and looks about a 1/8" narrower in width now with a nice amount of fray material all over the car. After removing the belt and pulleys I can see the oil weeping from where the head mounts to the block and timing cover. Damn. Not good. I've had the PCV #6 update since I bought the car at &4K (106k now).
After a bit of searching I assume I'm looking at a good amount of labor here to remove and reseal the timing cover. 10-14 hours labor? Any ideas? And does the engine have to removed to reseal the timing cover?
I've had 6 Saabs before with minor issues. Leave it to my 7th Saab that turned out to hit me hard with large ticket repairs - head gasket, auto trans solenoids, timing cover. Doh doh.
