Parking assist questions

After sitting out in rain for about a week my parking assist system failed. After several days of dry weather it started working again. This is a new condition and has never happened before. My car is six years old and hasn't been subjected to heavy rain before. Saab dealer said one of my sensors was shorted and wanted 512.00 to repair. This information cast 90 Bucks to diagnose. Is there any way to remove the sensor from the bumper and is there an after market unit which will replace these. Your advice is requested from any one who has had this problem also thanks in advance
