I discovered that there's a hose connector site on the air inlet pipe adjacent to the throttle body with no hose connected to it nor a plug sealing it. This opening would certainly allow unmeasured air into the throttle body (or air to blow out of the hole when the turbo is boosting).

If I read the Alldata.com data on the car correctly, there is a charge air line connecting to this port on manual transmission cars. No loose hoses are visible (this car has an auto transmission).

Is there supposed to be a plug in this hose connector location that has come out? Is it possible that someone has fitted the wrong air inlet pipe to this car?
