And the part is the same one as used on a Cadillac Catera. About $30 as I recall. The original lasted to 95K miles on our '03 wagon.
It's awkward to do, not hard. You need a selection of pliers to get the spring clamps loose, and be sure the clamps are all the way back on or you'll be in there again the next day. And you need to remove some stuff to get in there. But you have to do abut half the work to do the Mackay bypass anyway.
Put a big pan under the car to catch the coolant that comes out. I use an aluminum turkey pan.
