sorry for duplicate thread but I think posting late on a Sun night got my post lost some and I apologize for making it more of a blog! sure could use some clarity on a couple things if anyone has dealt with this:

the main air distribution drum in the heater box stopped turning in my vent system and got stuck on windshield output. code 14 on ACC. this is the air distribution drum which is controlled by the single step motor on pass side and has a yellow bearing and lever that attaches to the rod that also links to the rear seating open/close flap down below, not the blend door/flaps that are controlled by the two step motors on either side for the dual zone blending.

step motor is working and responding to ACC.

found the yellow lever broken off the bearing portion so rear seating air flow is not linked in. this could have been broken for some time. not sure. I have ordered a new yellow bearing/lever piece #17 on the eEuro diagram for AC and Heating. but I am not sure how I should try to get the old one out? it seems to be snapped in and pulling on it doesn't get it out. should I just try to break it apart by pulling it apart with needle nose pliers? no way to get to the interior of the heater box to push it out.

I also pulled the under dash cover from driver side and was able to reach in the floor vent and by hand rotate the distribution drum so now getting air out the front vents. th edrum moved easily enogh so it seems to be all aligned and in place OK. the stepping motor is definitely turning the yellow bearing piece on the pass side but it is not turning the rod/drum. when I turned the drum manually, the yellow piece on the pass side does turn so maybe the rod is just barely touching the yellow piece on the pass side but not enough to turn the drum from the motor? I can also manually turn the yellow bearing with a phillips head driver and it does not turn the drum. someone mentioned pushing the rod in from the driver side but the white end piece (plastic bearing) on the driver side is not jutting out. it's already completely flush against the housing so can't push the rod from that. so how? I am going to remove the floor vent hood after I get a 6mm box end wrench to get the 3rd screw off and try to get a grip on the rod itself from the driver side and see if I can nudge it over some toward the pass side. thoughts? help??? thanks!
