New SAAB 9-5 owner - question about CD Player

Long time watcher of this board. I have been dreaming of owning a SAAB for years. Well, finally, I picked up a 2000 9-5 Aero wagon with an auto trans. It has 84K on it, and looks like it has been in a box for 10 years. She is a beauty. (black over tan)
The factory CD player seems a little cranky. Burned CDs, and the SAAB CD won't play for long. It comes up with CD Error 11. Meanwhile, normal store bought CDs seem fine. Does this mean the laser is going bad? I have never used CD cleaners on any CD player, but will that help? Or is it normal for these not to read burned Cds?
