2004 Arc. Manual calls for PFR6H-10, so that is what I just bought (at an exorbitant price from the dealer). fuel economy has been really poor lately (13mpg in town, driven like a grandma) + plugs have unknown miles on them (from previous owner), so I figure that's the first step in sorting this out.
That said, eeuro lists BCPR6ES, and other places seem to list the G-power platinums (BCPR6EGP) as appropriate for the car (even for the aero). Of course I'll go with what Saab says first, but at 4x the price of the EGP's + possible future discontinuation (it's a Saab only part), I was wondering what the difference is...
Here's the description of the Saab-specific PFR6H-10:
Extra Long Life Double Platinum Plug, 14mm Thread Size, 19mm (3/4") Reach, 5/8" (16mm) Hex Size, Gasket Seat, Resistor, ISO Length, Wide Gap, Solid Terminal Nut, Projected Tip, Fine Point Platinum Center Electrode and Platinum Tip Laser Welded on Ground Electrode, .040" (1.02mm) Gap, Heat Range 6
and for the EGP:
GP Single Platinum Spark Plug, 14mm Thread Size, 19mm (3/4") Reach, 5/8" (16mm) Hex Size, Gasket Seat, Resistor, Removable Terminal Nut, JIS Height, Projected Tip, Platinum Tipped Center Electrode, Trapezoid (Beveled Cut) Ground Electrode, .040" (1.02mm) Gap, Heat Range 6
pretty similar except the Saab one has a platinum ground electrode also... has anyone had good results running the EGP's? (I'm pretty sure that's what's in my 1993 900 right now!) I gather the PFR6H-10 has longer life, but otherwise?
