That's because I have a v6. You should be able to just use the Loctite or Permatex anaerobic sealant on your 4 cyl. After you have cleaned both surfaces really well put a line of the sealant on. If any excess is going to get smeared one way or another, you would want it to be towards the outside so it doesn't get into the oil pickup screen. Good luck -JerryC
