By rear do you mean the rear suspension lower control arm? I figure you mean the front control arm rear broke near the rear.
Was a new control arm install or a used? Couple months ago read a report about high failure rate of the front control arms on the OG9-5. Said it was mainly bc they were pressed steel and susceptible to rust in the NE. If a new arm was installed, think returning to the shop who did the work and letting them warranty the work would be ideal. Perhaps there was a manufacturing defect?
