The email vfr-list I subscribe to had a passionate discussion a few years ago regarding soldering vs crimping. Some thought unless you had a military-spec crimping tool, crimps were worthless. Others pointed out inherent problems with soldering.
I'll probably use plain old crimps.
No warranty on his '05. My '07 still has GM SAAB certified. I don't know how my dealer is handling those claims right now.
