I've not seen any pictures, but have seen descriptions. Have never tried the paperclip, but have one in the car just in case. There are a lot of articles on this subject. I have been tempted to install a switch to use if it does not start. Usually it was after I drove only a mile and stopped or three miles in the winter at freezing temps; never fully hot or fully cold.
I started fighting that problem back in 2008 and finally pulled my NSS, disassembled, regreased, and reinstalled in 2011 following directions I found here and the other board. I also found that a two foot wooden dowel rod usually worked for getting the car to start. (I keep one on hand still.) Its a half inch dowel that I dropped on the switch one or more times and it worked for me until I "repaired" it. See my gallery page for pictures. I think the old dirty grease causes the spring-loaded contacts to stick - there is actual wear through the plating on some of them where they ride up on a plastic wall that causes them to break contact. Some folks think it bad soldering; I don't think anyone knows for sure.
I put the word "repaired" in quotes because it has failed to start twice since last July. I figure I'll finally have to replace it some day.
There are a couple of companies (dealers) that sell Saab parts wholesale if you decide on buying a new one.
