My local Advance Auto dealer gave me great free advice when my 1999 9-5 fuel pump quit as my wife tried to leave her work parking lot. First step is to make sure it's not the fuel pump fuse. If not, all you need is a spray can of ether quick start for small engines and a screwdriver. Go under the hood and find the screw on cap for the fuel injector fuel supply rail - a square pipe running horizontally across the engine left and right behind the black ignition cassette. Unscrew the cap and you will see a Schrader valve just like an auto or bicycle tire. Have someone turn over the ignition while you briefly depress the pin in the center of the valve. If fuel squirts out, then no problem with fuel pump. IFIf no fuel, replace screw on cap. Use screwdriver (or socket wrench) to remove clamp on rubber hose elbow from metal air supply tube to throttle body at top of engine below windshield. Spray small amount of quick start into throttle body intake and have someone turn ignition key. If engine starts and runs briefly, then ignition is OK and it definitely is the fuel pump, or other fuel related problem (blocked fuel filter, much less likely).
Best of Luck,
KirkD
