I'm in the group that loves them.
I put Koni FSDs on 2000 Aero at about 60K miles, with original Aero springs. They transformed the handling of the car - much flatter cornering; far more stable handling.
BUT - I wanted handling, with reasonable comfort. Something that works at occasional track days, but was not too stiff for long drives on less then perfect roads. The FSDs delivered exactly that. The ride is probably a little stiffer than the OEM setup, but by no means uncomfortable. I don't feel beat up after a long day driving, as I have on other stiffer set-ups (that don't do appreciably better on the twisties)
If a smooth ride is your number one priority, look for shocks/springs optimized for cruising. If you want handling and a comfortable daily driver, I doubt you'll find better than the FSDs.
