There are many fans + experts here of the V6. Search their posts for more info + buying advice. Hard to sludge up a V6 but don't miss the timing belt change!

I am not a huge fan of the V6, especially as the cars age. I think it will largely be easier to get parts for a 2.3t or T. Many more of them on the road... However, there are a few things to watch for on those also... oil change history in particular, and for older ones (like what you're looking at) look for pcv#6, the garret turbo can be weak (but can be replaced with the more sturdy TD04 from an Aero, so no biggie, just a bit costly)... and there can be some other common issues to check for in the buying process. Run a search here + you will get tons of buying advice! these are fantastic highway cars!
