What to do with a Throttle Body that is not working? Posted by scott47 [Email] (#119) [Profile/Gallery] (more from scott47) on Thu, 17 May 2012 10:30:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had a problem where the idle in my car was dropping and then surging. This was most noticeable when the car was stopped in Drive.
To fix the problem I replaced the throttle body with a brand new unit.
My question is if there is anything that can be done to rebuild or repair the original throttle body that was taken off the car? The car still ran fine and the biggest reason I replaced the throttle body was that the idle dropping and surging was pretty annoying....
Is there anything that can be done to repair or rebuild a throttle body? I plan on saving it as a spare (since the car still ran) but if possible I'd like to get it working as much like new as possible...
Thanks!
