I bought a kit on eBay for $80 or so and rebuilt my turbo. Not hard to do and some guy has a great 2 part video on You tube that is very detailed. there are some kits that are as low at $40 and they may be of some other origin.....maybe China. Loads of them on ebay to service the ricer crowd.
You can also buy a center section.
My turbo had 150,000 miles of synthetic and no sludging and was a bit wobbly on the shaft. I had not let go, but we were rebuilding the entire motor so it made sense to rebuild it while it was out.
