Question / curiosity for the a/c experienced . . . .
2003 9-5 Arc ~ 173K miles
I know that the amount of R134A in the system is important for proper function, and that the pressure switches seem not to tolerate under or over fill situations well, causing the compressor to cut out.
My question is "how much is too much or too little?" Could 0.8 lb too much refrigerant be enough cause irregularities in cooling performance (with the compressor cutting out and back on sprodically?) How fickle is this thing?
Now that it is supposedly at the proper quantity, I will watch performance carefully, but since the technician found nothing else, I am curious if it vcould have been asx simple as a proper charge.
Thanks
