I will be doing the exact same thing on my 08 VERY SOON. Have you tried using a wobbler extension with a 1/2" breaker bar ? I know the location of the fill plug can be a weird angle from looking at it. I have a 36" pipe that I sleave over my 16" breaker bar and it pretty much turns any bolt that will turn.
