Well, that post is of older origin I think since I by now see that the center ones are worn also just as much so I replace the rear and center ones on the 02-05 9-5.
I loosen the steering rack bolts and rear motor mount bolt to allow the subframe to drop down enough without tearing anything.
The rear bushing I pry out using a sharp edge prybar and work my way around the steel bushing until it collapses and comes out.
The center ones and use a air hammer with a curved chisel to split the plastic sleeve and hammer them out upwards.
But then I use a home made special tool made out of a Volvo 240 trailing arm special tool to press the new bushings in so non of this is easy work for a DIY with limited tool supply and without a car hoist.
I don't know what that tool is you mention. It is a company in Sweden that makes a whole kit for these bushings but it is expensive.
