"happy button"

In Reply to: How faster should 05 Aero Auto feel vs 02 Linear?, Vicsaero95, Fri, 29 Jun 2012 09:44:42

I remember test driving an 02 linear at a dealer + the salesman referred to the "S" button as "the happy button". It does make a difference. I don't own an aero, but rather an 05 arc which is in between the linear and aero for power. Honestly, without sport mode on, especially around town, it doesn't feel that fast. On the highway, it can definitely go. When we bought the 04 arc, I drove it back to back with an 03 linear, and honestly, the linear was pretty similar. It's not a light car + that might be part of it. Every og9-3 I've driven feels way faster, even though the 04 9-5 has more power.

could it have to do with the roads traveled/conditions and sport mode vs non?

The other thing I've noticed with the 9-5 vs our c900's: the c900's feel faster going around eg a clover leaf... but the 9-5 *is* faster... it's amazing how far off perception can be!
