I rarely come across water deep enough to have ever been sucked into the CAI. I haven't done on on my current car mainly due to my better half who keeps telling me that magic word: "no." I would also only pair it with a full exhaust. There is no restriction to the sounds your turbo makes (spool up/ blow off) and with out the growl of an exhaust to back it up, it sounds like its out of place. So I'm gonna have to save up for that I think, and do it with a tune at the same time. Just get it all done in one go.

With the SMBC, make sure you start off small and slowly build it up. You can put your car into Limp home mode pretty easy. Also, it doesn't take much to get the power you want.
