I had some close personal friends very high up in Saab USA from 1979 onward. I know so many anecdotes from very reliable sources about the GM battles and de-contenting. My sources are the real thing and not hearsay. So in my humble opinion they do hold weight.
I don't care if Toyota put crappy piston in their stuff to save weight. I would not expect GM do do it to Saab.
And again I do know that cracked #1 pistons are not unusual and the MAF sensor is usually the culprit. Why did GM have and extended engine warranty program if there was not a problem??
