My S/O's 2008 9-3 xwd is a rocket. I believe it has 280 hp, and gobs of torque. 6 speed manual...the power is really amazing. On the hwy in 6th @ 70mph you step on it and it keeps on going. From launch,going through the gears is a blast. Some may even call the sounds a bit loud, I call it the Swedish Mustang. The roar when you step on it will put a smile on your face for sure, and pin you in the seat. I would imagine it's the same engine, a bit more hp but also more weight in the 9-5. The ride is so/so..a bit choppy and not as pinned down as her previous '03 9-3 linear, which while not as powerfull, cornered like it was on rails, never could break that car loose in a turn. One of the most amazing go cart like cars ive ever driven, and ive driven many, including 10+ different Saab's.
