Thinking of getting a 9-5

Hello all! I'm a pretty solid SAAB guy. I've had 8 in the last 25 years, and went to Trollhattan for the 50 year celebration in '98. I've always had OG900T,SPG, NG900, 9000t and OG9-3 (ALL manuals!). I want another one before the parts become scarce and the techs all move on to become Prius mechanics. Normally, I'd look for a good 2002 9-3SE or a Viggen, but I'm now thinking of a 9-5 AERO. I've read that they have a bit more of a sophisticated chassisthan the 9-3, and are just as fun to drive. I especially like the earlier 9-5s.(NG 9-3s are OUT!!)
Any advice as to which year is better than other, or which year to avoid? Sedan vs Wagon for drivability? Does anyone like the auto gearbox? I'm in LA now with brutal traffic. I'm in a '95 900s manual, right now, and it's fine, just getting a bit long in the tooth (hate the cable clutch!).
Thanks!
