sounds as if you maybe have the lines installed backwards?? just a guess. had a similar problem when i broke a check valve changing a fuel pumop. For me it turned out that the replacement valve was faulty (feed). I learned by using OEM check valves that this was the only way to do the job right. Let me know what you find. I bet the pump itself is just fine.
