Please note that I have had engines PASS a compression test and still have the head bolt problem. Usually over pressurizes the cooling system until something goes (usually the release in the cap on the plastic tank), but sometimes a hose can go first.
Check the torque on the head bolts and if they are not at speck (I have fond some like 20ft/lbs, etc.) can try this first. It is amazing how loose they can be and still run ok. With this loose, then sometimes they do "blow" the gasket for real.
But, it is also entirely possible that the gasket is "blown", and if so pull the head and replace.
