Ok, when the top large hose is not intact it is possible that oil flow though the turbo is not correct. How long do you think you drove with a bad top hose? Was the hose actually not connected and / or had a failure (hole)?
I know that this is a problem with PVC 6, but not sure about others.
There is a hose that goes from the firewall to one of the turbo air controls, I think the one right in the front of the car in the center. Make sure this one is good condition and attached. if small hoses look cracked / worn, replace, etc.
