I wouldn't go cheap with the shocks and struts. Look for a sale and get a good brand that will last. Some owners are happy with the initial ride and performance of the Monroes butI haven't heard that this satisfaction is long lasting.
I put Monroes on one vehicle in the past and when new they were worse than the worn out OEM shocks I removed. I live only 30 miles from the town where Monroes were fist invented and built so everyone around here has a high opinion of them. I did too until I installed a pair.
