"It did cause the gas gauge to be a bit sluggish. That is, when I fill the car up it would take a while to register full. Usually I would have to drive a bit before the gauge would move to the correct position."
This is often caused by not shutting the car off when refueling. The gauge isn't "live" like it was in the olden times. Part of that is to help prevent wild fluctuations in the reading. In most cases, if the car is shut off when refueling, and filled, the gauge will pop straight to the top on restarting.
