serpentine belt 1 Saabers Like This Post! Posted by Tom G [Email] (#1951) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Tom G) on Mon, 19 Aug 2013 18:51:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had the pleasure of changing the serpentine belt on my 9-5 aero wagon. What a pia. I was thinking the design guys must have been mad at the mechanics. Only a half inch more would have negated the need to remove the tire, fender molding, etc. Was it really necessary to make things that tight?
Putting the new one back on as no walk in the park. Half way through, the new one I purchased from one of the site sponsors seemed slightly too short. I raced to an auto parts store and purchased a new new one. I eventually got it on, I used a nail to hold the tensioner allowing both hands free to install the belt.
I didn't want to temp fate by taking off the new new just to try the old new. Well, next time, I try the old new.
Oh, did the air filter why I had things apart. Not to hard, just note which end goes forward. Although the notch on one side makes it easy to spot.
