Very similar issue developing with our '05 Aero Wagon.
First start on a cold morning and it cranks rather slowly, Starts running (briefly), sputters and stalls. Usually starts and runs okay on the next attempt, but GF reported that it took three attempts today.
No other symptoms and issues otherwise.
And To be clear; a "cold morning" for us is typically 35F-45F.
I Correlate most of the cold start issue to poor/slow cranking.
Battery capacity/condition OK. Starter load/draw is normal during cranking. But, I've only able to check it after its been driven/started.
I suspect voltage drop issues between the battery positive cable and starter (Rather common apparently?).
Cant confirm a fix yet.
Have only just ordered a new battery cable and reman-starter. Plan on replacing oil-pressure switch too while the starter is out.
