Good idea to remove the shafts? I had Martin Davidson's Machine shop in Reseda CA do my engine. They plugged the oil passage that feeds the chain tensioner. To plug the other oil passages that lube the bearings, they installed inner bearing inserts that have no oil holes in them.
Genuinesaab [Taliafaro] makes a Balance Shaft delete kit kit. Which replaces balance shaft outer bearing with precision CNC machined aluminum plugs, this seals the Oil passage when deleting the balance shaft system on the B204, B234, B205 and B235 engines. They also have a block off plate for the tensioner oil passage.Their kit includes a pair of plugs and tensioner block off plate with o-ring. At $65 it is a good deal.
