Pandemic of similar lighting issues Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 21 Dec 2013 05:02:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I arrived home from work yesterday, shut off my car, and opened the door to a chorus of "Bing, Bing, Bing"....
It sounded identical to the issue I had a year ago when the ignition cylinder refused to pop-up keeping all accessories powered with key removed. Nothing was powered up on the dash, no warnings, the CD player had stopped. The key cylinder was in the raised position. What was up?
I played around for a few moments then closed the door and walked behind the car. My tail lights were illuminated! Engine off, key out, head lights off, tail lights on. I had left the headlight switch in the ON position. I turned the hedlight switch to OFF and tail ights went dark. Problem did not duplicate itself later last night.
I replaced the Orange Relay shortly after purchase of the car in early 2012 so I am guessing the problem is with one of gray relays. Any other thoughts?
