Tires were my guess too Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 23 Mar 2014 14:25:49 In Reply to: Re: 2001 Aero vs. 2008 Aero, Stephen Goldberger, Sun, 23 Mar 2014 12:53:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If the '01 had V or W rated performance tires with stiff sidewalls, and the '08 had touring tires (which can be V rated as well) with softer sidewalls, the '08 would feel sloppier. Let's face it, many people will buy H-rated tires to save money or Touring Tires for their softer ride.
The '01 has undoubtedly had its shocks and struts replaced by now strictly by its age. Maybe the '08 really needs a new set.
Yes, the interior was decontented of the B-pillar mesh pockets, cheaper looking vinyl on the dash and door panels, no warning triangle in the truck, GM designed radio and heater controls, and they even took the rear seat heater out for two years (not available even as an option!). But these changes were cosmetic not structural so the cars should be equivalent under the skin.
