Check all the hoses connected to your trap. It's possible that one of them is cracked and leaking and it looks like it's at the trap but it's really a little higher up. This was true on my '99 SE 2.3 even with the PCV6 update - I replaced all of the PCV6 and the one part I probably wouldn't have had to replace was the actual trap itself.
And I just received a new hose-and-check valve to attach to the trap in our 2005 Arc . . . broken just like everyone else shows right at the check valve.
