I think that's my problem. The engine has moved backwards about 2 inches, at the bottom anyway, such that the axle is blocking the center supports of the subframe. I can easily tell this since the torque arm is about 2 inches short of joining from the engine to the subframe when the subframe is in the correct position. I think I'm going to need to figure out how to move the whole engine forward. might need a creative use of jacks or something.
