Very good detailed information. I will be doing the system flush. This is where I am in this process.
The past weekend I installed a new receiver drier with O rings. I then set up to vacuum the system using an Air Operated Vacuum Pump attached to an air pressure hose and compressor. The compressor only attained a 45 rpm reading and the manifold guages neg 9.
At that point I decided to check with a local auto parts provider for a vacuum in their loaner program, and they do have that available. I also decided to check all fittings, O rings, etc., to find source of leak. I pulled the WIS instructions for removing the air compressor to empty out existing oil.
So the question is the order of procedure? Would you typically flush the system with a new receiver drier installed, (which I installed this weekend), or flush the system then install the new drier? Same with the compressor, do you run the flush before or after adding the new oil? Then after the flush would you draw a vacuum to thoroughly remove all moisture?
Thank you.
