Check turbo control valve hoses Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 8 Sep 2014 03:25:07 In Reply to: sudden extreme engine roughness, Val W, Sun, 7 Sep 2014 16:50:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The cluster of three larger silicone hoses that connect to the boost control valve pinned to the aluminum cobra pipe. I had a similar issue earlier this summer on my Viggen and I found the hose connected to the turbo inlet was torn significantly.
I was able to snip off the torn end and reconnect the hose. Problem gone and new hose will be purchased and installed.
Since the problem gets worse when the turbo should be providing boost it may be a vacuum leak in these hoses, or a loose hose or clamp between the turbo and the throttle body.
