So a more fundamental question for you - if you know of a good Indy and have had past problems with this dealer - why are you bothering at all with the dealer ?
If I couldn't do the repair myself I'd ask some specific questions to the prospective Indy shop about their experience with this type of repair and how they answer your questions and/or set expectations may tell you a good deal. I also wouldn't mention that you have been told your boxed is "seized" - let them evaluate the patient's condition.
