Well, I took my car back to the tire shop last night to get a slow leak repaired for the second time this winter and received the news I was hoping to not hear. The pot-hole I struck last February that blew out my Gislaved apparently bent the rim enough that the ding is the source of the slow leak. The new tire held air fine for the final two months of winter time use last winter, and again for the first month of use this winter, but the last 6 to 8 weeks have been a constant struggle with air pressure.

I returned home and ordered a replacement rim from an auto salvage yard in Wisconsin for $80 only to receive a phone call from them 15 minutes later. The rim was no longer in stock and they feared someone had thrown it onto the truck going to the smelter, not realizing the rim was featured in an internet ad.

Then I found another source offering a reconditoined rim for $135. Yes, the price delta bummed me out too but others were higher yet.

Later I found that PartsGeek offers a HUGE variety of reconditioned Saab rims for low prices as well. I may have been able to save $2 if I found their site first but I won't quibble.

Any future rim searches of mine will start at PartsGeek.
