My wife has a 2010 9-3 which we have been very happy with. My 23 year old daughter will be living with us and needs a car just for local travel. I want something I'm not going to have to carry collision on. Looking at the local ads I found a 2004 with a reported bad voltage regulator. I know the difficulty of pulling it but being an electrical engineer electrical stuff doesn't otherwise scare me. The car has a bit over 100K on it.
Digging through the archives 2004 seems like a good year. Just wondering if there are any other problem areas to watch out for on that vintage. I do a fair bit of wrenching myself so I'm not afraid of minor issues. Just looking out for major things I might not be able to deal with.
