Rebuilt axles are generally better than new Chinese ones, but for the price, the rebuilders can't do anything but clean up the threads, put new boots on the axle, and pack them with new grease. Still, if your parts have slop, a rebuilt one will probably have tighter tolerances. I've used A-1 Cardone rebuilt axles on quite a few of my family's cars, and only once had an issue. An inner driver weld broke on my 900 and splattered grease on the bottom of the car.
