Somewhere between $350-$500 to drop the pan and look around. I had it done on my 2003 Aero with 135K miles. I have PCV6 and 5K synthetic changes, but I wanted the peace of mind. It was very clean, with just a couple of coffee grounds-looking pieces in the screen, easily cleaned up.
It may seem like a big expense on a car that's probably worth $3,000 and dropping, but I've taken good care of it since new and I plan to keep it forever. Having it checked is a small price for knowing, then you can make an informed decision if some big repair or maintenance expense comes up.
