Also, my store had three iterations of this battery: (1) type with single flip up handle, similar to Advance's highest tier or Autozone Duralast Gold, (2) type with two central flip up handles, and (3) same as type 2, but with the handles deleted, potentially as a cost savings measure. I'm not sure which manufacturer makes better batteries so I went with the freshest one which was type 3.
Costco seems even more preferable now that many stores have switched to 2 year flat warranties and force you to pay a lot more for the 3 year with 5 year prorated. My batteries have mostly failed between two and three years. One even failed while driving on the highway and the car stalled. I'm hoping the Costco batteries will be better than the Duralast ones.
H6 might not be listed because earlier cars had batteries with a vent hose. I'm not sure if it matters if one uses a battery without the vent hose on an earlier car. Probably not.
