cold start dying Posted by allissaab [Email] (#1488) [Profile/Gallery] (more from allissaab) on Mon, 9 Nov 2015 16:14:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 1999 2.3 liter automatic. The car dies when you put it in gear after startup. Only happens after sitting overnight or similar long non running condition and only when the temperature is less than 45 degrees or so and only happens the one time(once you successfully drive even 30 seconds, it will idle while in gear just fine. Car starts and runs smoothly, just dies when put in gear. Problem can be overcome by letting it idle in park for about 3 minutes before putting in gear. No check engine lights and car runs flawlessly after that first time start in morning. New plugs, new dic, new fuel pump and filter, rebuilt throttle body, new vacuum hoses and new CPS in last 6 months. Any input would be appreciated as I imagine it will get worse as nights get colder.
