Question - Helping out a fellow Saaber in Australia Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 21 Mar 2016 18:17:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A fellow Saaber from Australia has requested my help with securing the seals necessary to eliminate an oil leak from the Sump area of his 2001 2.3T. I am assuming he will require the O-rings for the oil lines in the sump (2 or 3 of these?), Anerobic sealant (unless he buys it locally), the Oil Pump O-ring, a new Crankshaft seal (both just in case), and new O-rings for the Oil cooler lines. He said the leak is from the front side of the sump.
Anything else? He hasn't dropped the sump yet so he isn't able to confirm exactly what he needs.
This is the same fellow who did a similar favor for me last year by procuring one of the last 5 known Saab-Scania rear desk badges for my Viggen convertible from an Australian based auto parts chain (who would not sell to me) and mailing it to me here in Michigan.
Saab parts are much cheaper here in the US than Australia, even simple things like O-rings which might even be a generic part.
