Cars can be finicky with bulbs. I have an Porsche and when I got it back from the body shop after a repaint many years ago they mismatched dual and single filament bulbs and used off brands. It took me a while to sort it all out. The initial symptoms were comical but confounding.
Your headlight aim issue and light could be the switches on the suspension starting to go. That's common. They're about $90 each. We have 160k on our '04 and I've replaced both switches in the past year. When they both go out the headlights default to pointing nearly straight down at the road and the funny little light on the dash stays lit.
