By a while I mean I can let the car sit and idle for 30 to 45 mins and all of a sudden the oil light will come on. The light was coming on after about 5 mins of idle after install of used engine, at that time I was running 5-30, at that point, from advice I put in 10-40 and the light stopped coming on. During all of this I was not driving the car yet just letting it idle. Now the light is back. When I start the car and drive it, the light will come on within a 10th of a mile of moving. Only reason I know its a 10th of a mile is because the trip odometer just happen to been at 0 from the battery being removed. The engine was just installed so it has been open to know that there is no sludge in it. At this point I wish I had the funds to have had the bearings done while the engine was out and the pan was off but at that moment I didn't. Although with the used engine only having 74k on it I thought there shouldn't have been a reason to have to do so.
So as of now I'm going to change the pressure sensor, the pump and the bearings and hope that this will come to an end. Is there anything else that I should look into as far as being replaced, removed or cleaned while I am in there? Is there anything else I should order while ordering the parts listed above? As for the oil pump goes, when I search for it all I find is a 2 piece kit, is that all I will need (besides the o-ring) or is there something else that goes along with it? Have never done an oil pump before so want to make sure I get everything the first time. I hope I have given enough info to you guys to help me with this. There is nothing else going on besides what I have stated.
