I get a 1110 code, sometimes, no other codes, and I've got a very intermittent but substantial throttle position sensor malfunction.
New Cassette, new Throttle Body, new Air mass meter, new CPS, new plugs, all done since the problem first cropped up months ago. Car ALWAYS starts, often goes for weeks with no issues, can behave fine 3 days out of 4 and the problem has never stranded me. Been in California and back, sweaty palms but no down time.
What happens is the TB seems to stop recognizing what position the throttle is supposed to be and cuts out, cuts back in, and ALWAYS responds very promptly to a heavy boot to the gas pedal. Sometimes it will stall but normally not. The usual malfunction is cruising at like 60 mph and it suddenly wants to decelerate. Giving it a little more gas or steady gas won't always restore power but 3/4 or full throttle always will.
I've replaced the other two turbo valve assemblies (the ones on the front of the motor) and this was next.
