You remove the controller.
take out the battery.
Move the fuse box over out of the way.
disconnect the big connection and the smaller one to the servo.
6 Torx screws to remove the controller.
Use plastic bag and tape to cover the ends of the solenoid cores that are exposed.
Send to BBA.
You can drive the car. Same as switching off ABS
Re-install when you get it back.
MANY of us have done this. It is a fairly common occurrence and this is the best way to handle it.
It is my understanding that the heat and vibration causes a tiny wire to break.
